The King (Swedish: Kungen) is a monarch who appears in the 1969 television show Moomintroll created by Tove Jansson and Lars Jansson. He was portrayed by popular Swedish actor Gösta Ekman.
The King is a pompous but insecure character who falls in love with the Moomin lifestyle. He is a parody and commentary on the contemporary monarchy. At the beginning of the show, he develops hay fever from watching the Moomin family with his spy equipment and orders the family to remove their noses.
