Sophia Jansson (born 1962) is the current creative director for the Moomin franchise and characters.
Biography[]
Born in 1966 to Lars Jansson, Sophia read her aunt's franchise of books The Moomins as a child with Tove herself and even was in her studio with a replica of the Moomin house that spins around and she admired it. Tove later donated it to a museum, and she was upset because she would never see it again.[1] In 1997, she moved back to Finland after living abroad for quite some time and she needed a job. She bought the company and became the director of the Moomins. She couldn't cope with her aunt's and fathers death. She still directs the Moomins to this day.[2]
