The Police Inspector or Superintendent is the chief of the police in Moominvalley. He is tasked with solving crimes, and upholds the law in the community. He is a close friend of the Moomin family, and is also the love interest of Little My's older sister Mymble.
The Inspector is very civil and polite, and approaches issues with calmness and rationality (though he will lose patience if pushed too far). He prefers to solve cases without having to resort to violence, and considers guns to be dangerous; due to this, he never carries a sidearm. Despite this, he is sometimes shown to carry a police baton on his person.
This Hemulen originated in the Moomin comics (first appearing in the story Moomin and the Martians) and also appeared in the 1990 anime.
Physical appearance[]
The Police Inspector appears as a white Hemulen. He wears a dark blue custodian helmet, a yellow scarf, a blue jacket with white buttons and black trousers.
